Webinar: Reflections on grassroots feminist work during COVID-19 in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines

WEBINAR: 8 DECEMBER 2020

The Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia face many similar challenges with regards to human rights, democracy, and freedom of expression and association. Women’s rights is one such area; feminist movements, female activists, and women’s human rights defenders have been particularly targeted by law enforcement agencies. Despite this, the movement continues to bravely fight for the rights of women and other marginalized and minority groups.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced most feminist work online across these three countries. So how are grassroots organisations, communities and collectives coping with this shift? What are the benefits and what are the challenges of digital-only feminism? How can we make the best of the situation, and how are groups responding to COVID-19 itself? Join this online discussion from @seafamnetwork to learn the answers.
